Ultramar Blue 1 is an acrylic paint from Games Workshop’s Warhammer Tone Pro range, designed for painting Warhammer miniatures. It belongs to the Ultramar Blue colour family, where five different tones are designed to work together, making it easier to progress from shadows to highlights. Its classic, deep royal blue hue is ideal for creating contrast and building a coordinated blue colour scheme.

Ultramar Blue 1 is the darkest tone, Tone 1 of 5, making it ideal for deep shadows, recesses and dark base layers. Its royal blue hue is particularly suitable for Space Marine armour, cloaks and other blue surfaces where you want to create depth and establish a strong foundation for lighter tones.

Warhammer Tone Pro consists of 30 colour families, each containing five tones, from Tone 1, the darkest, to Tone 5, the lightest. The paints can be used for basecoating, layering, highlighting, glazing and drybrushing. Mixing the paint with Shading Medium allows you to create a shade or glaze, while Blending Medium extends drying time for smoother colour transitions. The paint comes in a 12 ml pot.
