Italeri 2842 – FIAT CR.42 Falco Assault/Night Fighter in 1/48 scale is a highly detailed plastic model kit of one of the last operational biplane fighters used during World War II. This version represents the assault and night fighter variant of the Fiat CR.42 Falco, operated by the Regia Aeronautica and later also by the Luftwaffe.
Developed from the successful CR.32, the CR.42 retained its classic biplane configuration with fixed landing gear and an open cockpit. Powered by the air-cooled Fiat A.74 radial engine, it reached a top speed of approximately 400 km/h. Although the biplane concept had become outdated, the CR.42 remained highly respected for its exceptional maneuverability and served effectively in both ground-attack and night fighter roles.
The kit includes highly detailed plastic parts, finely reproduced surface details, full-color instructions, and decals for 4 different versions, including Italian and German aircraft. Figure not included.
The completed model measures approximately 17.2 cm in length and offers excellent detail in 1/48 scale.
The kit is supplied unpainted and unassembled and requires paint and cement for assembly.
