The motor vehicle manufacturer Westfalia recognised early on that the VW T1 was the ideal vehicle for camping and since 1950 has offered a camping unit as an accessory. In 1961 came the permanent conversion into the camping bus which included four beds, several cabinets and a cooking area among other things. With the optionally available pitch roof, even adults could stand upright in the camper.
