This 43? rapid discharge hopper is grey with yellow lettering and run on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Built by the Ortner Freight Car Company (now Trinity Industries) in the late 1990s, these CSX Rapid Discharge hoppers have a 286,000-pound capacity. The Rapid Discharge design self-clears the load within 30 seconds and is often used to carry heavy aggregate, iron ore, and limestone in unit trains.
