Hopper car 100 ton 3-bay covered CSX #801409

Rel 11/21 This 100-ton 3-bay open hopper with rib sides is black with yellow lettering and runs on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Serviced in 1989" this hopper belonged to a 200-car series, 80"40"-80"457. With a 3,418 cubic-foot capacity, it also had a ?hopper topper? added during seasonal surges of grain and allowed the car to switch between coal service and grain service. Cars were washed thoroughly and the topper was added to the car, making in essence, a weatherproof covered grain hopper.
