Rel 09/24 Built for a predecessor road, this plug-door boxcar with Bettendorf trucks made its way to Conrail and was repainted into the “can opener” scheme when it was shopped in 1977. New York Central merged with its rival, the Pennsylvania Railroad, in 1968 to form Penn Central, which went bankrupt two years later and was merged into Conrail in 1976.
